The Campsite:
It's always fun to have a pic of the campsite to look back on and help remember the trip.
On the boat, or behind it...I'm happy to be there. Can't say the same for my daughter-she'd much prefer the be on it.
Some of the best times on the lake are just hanging out on the houseboat, on the beach, and of course- in the water (the water was cooler this year then in the passed, it was rising)!
The Kids:
Having kids puts a spin on what you find FUN to do at the lake...spending time with them is as fun as it gets!
Ok and Owen too...although he's still in diapers.
Some things to remember:
*slide down a monster slide at the Sandhill made by Whitehead cousins
*No baseball :( let's not skip this again, K!
*Yummy dinners and brunches
*swim through debris some canyon I can't think of the name at the moment that ended up in a hike because it we would much rather walk back then swim in the MOST DISGUSTING, smelly debris that gets in any crevice of your body and swimsuit you can find and doesn't come out regardless of what you try, oh and did I mention it STINKS! (ya, who wants to come to Lake Powell now?! Haha, promise it's not always like this!) And who can forget Mike trying to swim UNDER it, but forgot he had his life jacket on and ends up swimming THROUGH the stuff, and I laugh out loud thinking about it now how terrible that must have been! Oh, wish we had pictures!
*I decided to learn how to drive the boat...I told my dad that as we he was driving us back from the adventure I mentioned above and he must have been happy for a break or something because he hands it over to me right then and there, no stopping to switch, just take the wheel Tara! Ha-ha! He must not have realized I have NEVER driven the boat before! and now I'm driving and it's not like the most beginners water to be driving in...pretty choppy actually, but not to the point where I don't want to drive, because I WANT to LEARN! So, I received mixed reviews from my passengers- from headaches to scared for their lives or one who actually said they didn't think I just bad at all and were just enjoying the ride! I definitely need some practice...Let's just say I sacred myself a few times. :)
*Kirby studying like crazy on top of the houseboat...not seeing him for hours...he shaped up though :) and did warm up to the lake and taking a vacation!
